Insta-Snow!

Since we are barely getting a winter with this crazy climate change, we made some "Insta-snow" this week.  It is a fascinating and bizzarely snowy substance. 

 We hid animals in the snow and made fun things like "dinosaur soup" and "animal milkshakes."

Taffe and I highly reccomend this (slightly messy) but super fascinating material!

Train-tastic Birthday Party

What a special and wonderful day!  Taffe had such a happy birthday, and he has many loving family members and best pals.  His girlfriend's mama even made (yes, sewed) him his snazzy "choo choo 3" shirt, which he adores!

 Our little man is still an avid train enthusiast, so we were eager to spoil Taffe with a fantastic train bash!  He was full of smiles and engaged in all of the activities with his best pals through the entirety of the party.

We had a weather delay to the party, which may have been an unplanned bonus, since Taffe was able to enjoy all of the train decor before he got to share it with everyone!

 We also created a cardboard train for the children to play on and decorate.  Lots of great play!

Break for pizza and a treat!

 A very special treat from Grandma and Grandpa!  They made all the cake pops and created his special birthday train.  Taffe loved it!  And check out all the candles!!!

Taffe blew out all but 2 candles in one big breath!  Whew!

 Evidently, when everyone went off to play again, Double Trouble cousins decided to have round 2 with the cake pops!

Happy Third Birthday, Taffe!

We love you!

Today, I am 3!

We have been talking, and talking, and talking about when Taffe would be 3!  If you asked him last week, he would have told you, "I am not 3 yet!"  So today, when told him it's your birthday, he immediately said, "I am not 3 yet!  In 2 days!"  Ha! No worries, after a presents and a mini-family celebration, he totally gets it!

Some Favorite Holiday Moments

Natural History

A cold day motivated us to head downtown to the Natural History Museum.  We were super excited to check out the Butterfly Exhibit.  Kingston LOVED it.  He was fascinated by the butterflies!

 Taffe was not as enamored with the butterflies....to each his own!  But, Taffe did love the fossils and the mamal exhibits.

 After a few hours exploring the museum, Taffe concluded that the giraffe was his favorite part.

Four.

Four years of being married to my best friend.

Snow day!

Kingston witnessed his first snow!

Later when it really starting snowing, we all bundled up and went out to play with our neighbor. Wish I could say I had a picture of Kingston in his snowsuit and Taffe running around out there, but let's be realistic!  Kingston screamed the second I stuffed his limbs into the snowsuit, like I was torturing him until literally the moment we stepped outdoors.  Then he loved it!  He was fascinated.  Big wet snowflakes landed on his lashes. Precious! An attempt to plop him down in the wet snow would surely have ended up in a bellyflop on cement... so no pictures.  

Afterwards, Taffe had a special snack of hot chocolate (which was a longwinded debate about whether or not he likes hot chocolate how he'd rather have chocolate milk, but they are the same thing, just warm, but I don't like warm things, etc., etc.) and popcorn.  

Excitement for winter to finally be here!

Drills

Taffe and Papa did some soccer drills while we were up in CT. 

Can never start too early training for the Olympics... or the Vienna Youth League.
