Just Add Salt

Kingston wanted to help me cook breakfast.  Taffe thought this was hilarious.
Note to self: Move all spillable, breakable containers from the lazy susan.

Farm

Having a 3 year old is fun in so many ways, especially when he gets excited about something.  This morning we were playing with a little barn and Taffe said he wanted to pet a pig.  So we decided a trip to the farm was necessary!
checkin' out the chickens

Petting a sheep!  He also pet a horse and a pig!!!

Kingston's view... leg up, totally relaxed!

Picnic time

Daddy's Boy(s)

Taffe announced during the getting ready process today,
"I want to wear a belt like Daddy!  And a tie! And a work shirt!"
Here you have it:
Taffe also wanted to work with Daddy. Fantastic,  I thought.  Too bad, Christopher told him there were no toys or games at the office.

a little PINK!

We are not afraid to paint with pink or playing with a pink pony, but there are NO pink clothes or accessories.  So you can understand why I had to get this headband for our only niece.
Perfection!

Scootin' Soccer

Much like playing "crab soccer" in elementary gym class, Kingston has created a new game of "Scootin' Soccer."  A self-made game which seems best played by himself!

Michelle

My dear friend and neighbor, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  Michelle is under 40, and the mom of two boys. C & G are similar ages and therefore good buddies with Taffe and Kingston. We have spent lots time playing together, walking and chatting since we moved into our Vienna home. Hearing Michelle tell me her terrible news, I was shocked. I burst into tears as I told Christopher. How could this be? And how will she deal with the many battles surely to come her way, and take care of her boys?

Alas, I had a lot to learn as Michelle has already shown me how her strength, her humor, her appreciation, and her positiveness.  There hasn't been a visit with Michelle in which she hasn't smiled or laughed. A positive attitude will surely go along way as Michelle begins chemotherapy in about a week. Most importantly, Michelle has been diagnosed at Stage 1, which is a huge relief. But the constant procedures and appointments is ridiculous!  This is the first time a friend of mine has had to deal with cancer, and I feel a constant need to hear about the latest test and medical update.  To prevent the likes of me stalking, she has started a blog Michelle's Cancer.

I share this with all of you (my faithful 5 readers) as I am now, more than ever, appreciating my health and all the people in my life. Deep breaths... but I know, Michelle, everything is going to be all right.

Port Discovery

We decided to forgo all schedules and venture for the whole day up to Port Discovery in Baltimore.  This place is the coolest kid place...ever.  Seriously, well worth the drive and the mini-meltdown when it was time to leave after 5 hours of fun! I don't think there is one fantasy idea of a child that is missed in this super creative place.  These pictures are just a glimpse of everything there!

Kingston buying some fruit at Taffe's store.

No shocker here... Taffe said his favorite part was the train,
which did have some very cool cargo.

Picking pumpkins at the market

At the water table, Kingston had his very own special seat!
(Raincoats and crocs provided for the kids!)
Taffe making his own floating boat at the water station.

Meeting Clifford!

Just browsing books.

Watching a drum show

Big brother, little brother watching the show.
Probably the most shocking part of the whole day was when Taffe went up and played a drum for several songs with this Brazilian drum line.  We couldn't believe he did what they instructed and that he stayed up there for so long. Check out the video!

They got the beat!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Kingston is on the move and I believe this is the start of some trouble
for the train tracks and his big brother!
