My dear friend and neighbor, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Michelle is under 40, and the mom of two boys. C & G are similar ages and therefore good buddies with Taffe and Kingston. We have spent lots time playing together, walking and chatting since we moved into our Vienna home. Hearing Michelle tell me her terrible news, I was shocked. I burst into tears as I told Christopher. How could this be? And how will she deal with the many battles surely to come her way, and take care of her boys?

Alas, I had a lot to learn as Michelle has already shown me how her strength, her humor, her appreciation, and her positiveness. There hasn't been a visit with Michelle in which she hasn't smiled or laughed. A positive attitude will surely go along way as Michelle begins chemotherapy in about a week. Most importantly, Michelle has been diagnosed at Stage 1, which is a huge relief. But the constant procedures and appointments is ridiculous! This is the first time a friend of mine has had to deal with cancer, and I feel a constant need to hear about the latest test and medical update. To prevent the likes of me stalking, she has started a blog
Michelle's Cancer.
I share this with all of you (my faithful 5 readers) as I am now, more than ever, appreciating my health and all the people in my life. Deep breaths... but I know, Michelle, everything is going to be all right.
