School's Out for Summer!

I am so excited that school is out for the summer! (You may be wondering why since I have been off since January.... ) All of my teacher friends and their cute babies are ready to hang out! This morning we walked with Amy and Cooper. Then we headed on down to Burke for a play date with Jenni and Mason. Cooper demonstrated his vocal cords while Mason demonstrated his agility for climbing on/over everything. One day it'll be little Taffe...!

He's Eating!

We have been noticing Taffe watching us very intently as we eat, so we decided it was time that he got a chance to eat. He LOVED it! Maybe our little guy will move out of the 12th percentile if he keeps eating like this!

Time with Dad

The best days are when dad comes home early from work! We went swimming together, and then we went out to an early dinner at one our favorite restaurants. If you go at 5:00, there is no wait for a table. Taffe was fascinated watching us eat.

Friday Fun

Every Friday we get together with our MONA (Moms of North Arlington) playgroup. Since Taffe's age playgroup is still forming, sometimes it's only our friends Edie and Stephen. Despite the humidity, we walked up to the Ballston farmer's market to get some fresh veggies. Later we had Stephen and Taffe "play" together. How cute are the boys?!

Ready for a Walk?

Taffe and I take our daily walks through Lubber Run Park since it provides nice shade in this June heat. Today we took three walks as Taffe is the most content when we are outside. For a stroll down the street we need to have:

Stroller? Check.

Fun fisherman hat? Check.

Shoe socks? Check.

Giraffe? Check.

Never leave home without your Giraffe.

Swim Social

It is a gorgeous day here in DC. The perfect morning for a swim social. We met our friends at the Upton Hill pool. The last time we were there, Taffe wasn't too sure about the water. Today, after seeing his older friends McKenna and Cardin in the pool, Taffe was stepped it up and really enjoyed the water. He enjoyed it so much, he got wrinkly prune toes!

Laughin' Taffe

Taffe just melts my heart every time I hear his little laugh. Luckily, Chris was able to capture some tinkles of laughter with his new Flip. Too cute!

Happy 1st Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day, Christopher! To celebrate Taffe's wonderful dad, we had his favorite chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast at home, and later had a picnic at Hayes Park. Dad also got a new Flip video camera, so not to worry, many more videos to come! Taffe and I feel so lucky and blessed to have such a loving and supportive dad in his life.

Lunchin' in Ballston

Friday we began our weekend with a lunch outing. After going to the Ballston farmer's market with our friends Katie and Belle, we decided to hit Rio Grande for lunch. Taffe enjoyed sitting on the table eagerly eyeing Belle's food. He's beginning to wonder, "When will I get some of that kind of food?!"

Squawkin' and Squeakin'

We came back from a jog and we were both very tired, so we lay on the floor. Taffe began to squawk and squeak for about 40 minutes. Now as linguist, I couldn't help but think, "How would I transcribe this?" I managed to get a clip of his noises for all to hear.

Splish, Splash... Takin' a Bath

Bath time is one of our favorite times of the day. Chris rushes home to enjoy some quality time with Taffe, and Taffe puts on a show for dad! We took out the infant sling seat, and now Taffe has more room to splash and kick his feet. Check him out in action!

Summer Time!

Over the sunny weekend, we took Taffe to the pool for the very first time! With there being so much to look at, Taffe was perfectly content just people watching. He did seem to enjoy kicking his feet in the water and wearing his very fun hat and cool sunglasses. Arlingtonians... you must go to Upton Hill pool.... very cool!

Cousins!

Taffe is lucky to live 2 blocks from his cousin Charlie. While Taffe is 8 weeks older... Charlie has already surpassed Taffe in the weight department. Last week, Charlie came over for a quick play date which involved the boys laying side by side, not looking at each other, but they did occasionally hold hands. :)

Annapolis

Off to Annapolis to celebrate Michelle and Chip's 30th birthdays! Here are the ladies: Leana (and future son) Michelle (and baby bump), Heather (with Taffe), Meg

Our first trip to Annapolis with Taffe. He loved being there! He loved looking at the water, the trees, the pool, people... he loved it so much that we couldn't get him to nap! Taffe proved he can survive on little sleep as he was delightful the whole day!

Movin' and Groovin'!

Taffe has begun to roll and he is definitely ready to move! With something to push off of (Mom's hand) Taffe can make his way!
