Already Spoiled
My dear JMU girls had a surprise Sprinkle for me and Baby McG. I was completely surprised, as Christopher had told me we were going to lunch with Taffe. I kept telling him, it was too late, and that Chef Geoff's was too nice for a toddler. Little did I know, my best friends were waiting to celebrate our already spoiled baby boy.
Taffe was thrilled when I came home with a bunch of balloons. He is very excited about the baby coming and told me that I will have "A big baby, no little baby." He also wants to buy the baby a fire truck. :) The little one is already spoiled and still has a few more weeks before his arrival!
A Day of Pajamas
Fast Friends
Our neighbors have a 2 1/2 year old Colin, who Taffe just loves to play with! They live right around the corner and Taffe looks up to sweet Colin. He started wearing his mittens because Colin wears his mittens. We get together at least once a week which is fantastic for both the boys and the moms.
Colin is a very hardworker. He is always shoveling or raking.Monday, February 21, 2011
Horsin' Around
There is nothing like a surprise visit from family. Aunt Pam and Uncle Paul went on a road trip all the way to Texas and stopped in VA on their way back to NH. Taffe was very excited to see them, and he really liked saying Uncle Paul's name.
We had the whole family over for dinner which was just wonderful!

Getting in all in...
I am attempting to keep Taffe super busy in the final few weeks of being an only child. For the fall and winter, Taffe and McKenna took a Tumble class together. It is truly amazing to think how much more than can do in class from when they first started in October. He loves when the teachers set up a balance beam or obstacle course. The goal for him is always to go as fast as possible, and to do really big jumps.
The weather outside has been cooperating in getting Taffe's energy out. (Hmmm, then why is he upstairs jumping in his crib rather than napping?!?) Taffe and buds, McKenna and Belle are driving a truck, rather than driving thier mother's crazy. :)
Sprinkle
Our Wednesday group held a little "Sprinkle" for us this week. Both Katie and I are due in March, so Edie hosted a brunch to honor the impending arrival of 2 little boys! We are so lucky to have been part of this Mom's group for almost 2 years! Things will certainly change with 2 more babies coming in March, and 2 more arriving this summer.
The group gave us some cute boy onesies & pants, a mom journal, and matching big/little brother t-shirts.
Soon-to-be big brother Taffe did not want to show off his new big brother shirt, but he is very excited about "Mommy's baby, no daddy's baby."

Feelin' the Love
Taffe had 12 of his best friends over for a Valentine's Day party. Taffe felt the love of his friends, but didn't always want to share his favorite choo-choo trains. Sigh. Overall, he was fantastic, as long as it wasn't his favorites.
On another note one of Taffe's favorite games is "Who loves you?" To which he replies... Papa, Nana, G-ma, G-pa, Gaga, etc. He has a long list. :)

Celebrate Good Times!
A weekend full of love and laughter! We celebrated the nuptials of Lauren & Chris with so many dear friends. It was a beautiful and elegant affair with lots of good music and dancing. We also enjoyed having a night away before Baby Boy #2 arrives.
All the ladies with beautiful bride Lauren... and new husband Chris smiling in the background.
Taffe also had a great weekend with "G-ma" and "G-pa" (his newest pronunciation). He was spoiled to pieces with attention and milkshakes.
We continued the party to attend BFF Jack's 3rd birthday and Super Bowl party.

A Visit from the Southern Family
Auntie Kelly came to make some serious health reform things happen on The Hill and squeezed in time for a visit with us. Kelly came bearing gifts which Taffe was thrilled to receive.
It was so fun seeing Taffe interact with Kelly. He showed her his trains, painted a picture, demonstrated his love for cookies, and for some reason thought it was necessary to show Kelly the laundry room trash.
