2 short clips at the end of Taffe's first day of crawling. TJ needs motivation to crawl at this point, luckily Daddy's cell phone is worth the effort!

Fall at the Beach
This weekend, my side of the family all headed down to Rehoboth Beach. It was a spectacular day at the beach. Cool, but warm in the sun. Taffe was loving the breeze and ocean air.
Exploring the sand was a riot! He was fascinated by the texture and by the fact that he could pick it up... and put it in his mouth.
When we came back from the beach, cousin Charlie was there. Taffe couldn't wait to get his hands on him!
Charlie was not such a fan of being man-handled by Taffe. Taffe found it hilarious. The 8 week age difference gives Taffe the upper-hand now, but Taffe needs to realize that Charlie is bigger than him!
There he goes again! Swiping Charlie's pumpkin right out of his hands! We're still working on the whole "sharing" thing.
Thanks for the fun memories, family!

Social Butterfly
When we first started attending playgroup Taffe was very content in my arms or laying on his blanket. Taffe has always been smiley and social with adults, but now he is very into the other babies. He shares toys and he thinks its funny when someone takes a toy from him. He'll even giggle and snatch it right back. Is that cooperative play going on with Gannon, Ryan and Taffe?
Taffe especially wants to grab his friends to show his love. He'll reach out and touch hands or faces. Look at how he is about to launch himself onto his friend Ryan.

Sigh...another nap strike
Naps are really not of interest over at the McGarrigal residence. Seriously not okay with me, and Taffe is not okay with me wanting him to nap. While I will win this war on sleep, Taffe unfortunately takes after his mother and is rather stubbornly protesting. We're talking no afternoon nap yesterday, and this morning, not a wink slept. I know it's because he is about one movement away from crawling, but for goodness sakes...sleep child!
He's really trying to hold out right now as I type. Dear baby boy.... you may have won a battle.... but Mama always wins in the long run.

Serves Me Right!
Since Taffe began sleeping through the night, I have done my fair share of bragging about what a great sleeper he is. Truth be told, the afternoon nap is inevitably an unknown occurrence each day. He LOVES his crib! So every day around 1:30,I put Taffe down then usually hear him play for 30-60 minutes. He rocks on all fours, rolls around, looks in the mirror, and plays his aquarium.
So I go to check on Taffe and expect he is asleep since he has been completely quiet for over a half hour (after playing for 45 minutes). And there he is... SITTING! Yep, just sitting there, happy as a clam. No idea how he figured out that he can go from laying to sitting, but he was QUITE please with himself.

A party for me, Love Taffe
Well, it wasn't exactly for me, but I helped my mom celebrate being 30 all day long!
I helped open her cards. Hey, they taste better than you might think.

Smackin' Lips
Taffe has discovered how fun it is to smack your lips. (And evidently hard work as indicated by the yawn.) You may need to turn up the volume to fully experience the video.
Picnic in a Park
Today was an extra special day because we got to see Dad not only in the morning, but also at lunch! We had a picnic lunch at a park nearby Christopher's office. After lunch we went into the office which always surprises me of how quiet it is.... until Taffe decided to do some serious talking. :)
Ooh! Grass! With some scooting and rolling Taffe managed to get a hold of some very coveted grass.
