April Flowers

In honor of Earth Day, we planted a variety of seeds along the back fence. I chose zinnias since they did so well last year, and Taffe chose 2 packets of sunflowers since  "they're so big!" We also tossed in a packet of four o'clocks, so we shall see how everything comes up!
We also picked out some annuals for the pots on the front porch.  Kingston was surrounded by flowers by the time we checked out.
Taffe is our biggest helper in the garden. He loves to water the flowers....and Daddy's feet.

Watering the irises.

The peony bush... already done blooming.
But any day now, all the other peonies will be out!
Nothing makes him happier than a ball to throw and catch!

little helpers

The boys always love when we have visitors and a visit from Nana and Papa was no different.  I went off to relax in sunny Florida (amazing!) while Nana and  Papa came to help with the boys.  Taffe was Papa's little helper with all the work that needed to be done.

Our BIG Boy!

How did this all happen? At some point in the last few months, Taffe became a big boy who has to do everything "by myself!" He is potty trained and loves to announce what he accomplished every time. He likes to wash his hands with an excessive amount of soap until I realize, oh wait, where is Taffe?  Still washing hands, right.
We also finally bought him a bed, so he is no longer just on a mattress on the floor. He loves his new bed and while he is our "big boy" he looks so small in it.  Especially when he sleeps across it horizontally.
He can get his own cups, put on his sneakers, open all the doors of the house, and self-serves his art supplies.  And because he likes to everything himself, his outfits are amazing.  According to Taffe "this is a match" or like in the photo below, they require no pants.

More, please!

My boy loves to eat.  He wants whatever is on my plate, and tries spinach daily as he just has to have it...and no, he never likes the spinach. He licks it and hands it back to me with a big smile on his face.

Tonight we hit a homerun when I gave him spaghetti covered in (turkey)meat sauce.
Remind me of this moment when he is 2 and eats nothing. :)

Happy Easter!

That Easter Bunny came to our house and left way too many eggs! (Lessons learned for next year!) And some goodies in the boys baskets which the boys got to before we took a picture!

Once Charlie arrived, we discovered there were more eggs to be found in the garden.

After our Easter lunch, Charlie and Taffe decorated the Easter Bunny cake.  Super messy and rather ill-shaped, but they boys were loving the sprinkles and jelly beans.

After eating way too much sugar, I bribed the boys with balls and jelly beans for some posed pictures.  :)

Getting Ready for Easter

We jammed packed this weekend with all things egg and Easter related. Taffe did his first egg hunt a Nottoway Park. It was crazy.
After Taffe managed to leap over children and get some eggs, he even shared them with Kingston.

Back at home we colored eggs.  Taffe was so into it this year!

It is REALLY hard to wait!
And who knew!? Taffe actually ate 2 of the eggs!
