I'm with the Band

This shirt is a nod to Taffe's uncles. From a family of muscians, music lovers, and groupies, of course. Until, Taffe gets his "Dogger" t-shirt, this Queen one will be his official Rockstar t-shirt.

Uncle B- It wasn't so long ago that The Dogger had it's glory... and Bohemian Rhapsody was "your song" back in the piano days.

Uncle Kevin- Can you pick a SftD that's Queen? Otherwise we'll just listen to "Party in the USA" on repeat.

Unlce Tim- Star of "We Will Rock You" and HSM. I think little TJ has some of your good shoulder moves.

Making his Mama Proud!

My little bookworm:
Taffe's favorite activity (well, 2nd to pulling everything out of all cabinets and drawers) is to pull out each of his books and to "read" them one-by-one. He may read them upside-down, or backwards, and often only a few pages of each book. But he talks while he looks at the pages and sometimes drags his finger across the text. Am I sounding too teachery?? :)

And it's amazing that his books actually make him stop and sit for a little while. Taffe makes his mama so proud!

Back and in Action!

We are back and in full swing of parties and playdates after many snow days and a trip away.

From our Valentine party... lots of love for our little guys! The kids partied in Vaentine outfits and exchanged cards.

When we got home Taffe had to show how much he grew while we were away. He went from walking some of the time to walking as much as he can!

Jamaica!

What a trip. 3 nights with the Ruddy cousins and siblings. There are many more pictures, but all the others display our attempts at singing and dancing, so didn't want those for the world to see. :)

Great trip... great laughs, but we sure missed you Taffe!

Snow...Making us all a little crazy...

It's crazy down here.

Seriously, Christopher has run every day despite the blizzard. Today Farley ran 12 miles to our house, and ran more with Christopher. Crazy.

Taffe and I ventured up to the mall. Despite some huge snow banks, it wasn't too bad walking. We had a much needed play time with Annabelle. The kids ran (crawled) around and were very excited to see another little one.

After much hard work and a really large snow pile Christopher got the cars out. Best story of the day... he asked our neighbor across the street if there were any essentials she needed before the next storm hit. Her response..."Milwaukee's Best & cigarettes." Nice. Told you it's crazy down here.

We walked to our local pizza place for dinner tonight. Check out these snow banks off of Wilson blvd. There is nowhere for the stuff to go.
Could we really be getting more snow?!

Snow as Tall as Taffe!

Another fierce storm came through DC this weekend. It's beginning to seem normal to constantly have snow on the ground. Though this was by far the most snow I've ever seen here. Supposedly Ballston had 28 inches... Taffe's height! I think we had closer to 24 inches.... still a LOT of snow!

This snow was heavy... these are our cypress trees that even after we shook them off, the branches are just weighted down and unable to snap back up.
Little man on a snow mountain.

Almost impossible to the back gate open. Look at the piles of snow on the shed and fence.
Christopher went for a run (yes, crazy!) and he snapped some great shots at a nearby park.
Still waiting for plows to come through... 24 hours later....

We may not being driving anywhere any time soon, but Christopher went to work on the driveway. Taffe loves to watch his daddy through the window.
Aren't we lucky that cousin Charlie can walk over? A nice way to end the weekend with the two boys hanging out in jammies together.

All this snow is truly remarkable, but really, what happened to living in the South?!

Life as a Toddler...

... means that chairs are a great hiding place .
...the floor mat found under the couch is fascinating,
...and boxes are made for emptying and sittin in.

Someone come push me around please!
